This is fairly straightforward. I sold a couple a house.
We remained in touch because we liked each other. One of them added me on Facebook and we remained connected over the years.
Recently, they emailed me and said they were considering selling, and asked me to come by for a market analysis and consult.
The visit didn’t go as expected, because the reason for selling was, you guessed it, they were splitting up. One of them thought a buy out of the other was feasible, and they even dabbled with an appraisal, but they wanted my opinion of the market value. The property had appreciated since they bought with me (and well it should, it had been 14 years), and without boring you with unnecessary details, a buyout was quite a viable option.
What I haven’t written about, but feel I should, is that the blueberry muffin they served me with coffee was incredible, and here is the recipe.
So I did not list the house. I made no sale. But I did my job for valued clients, and when the time is right, we will do business. In the meantime I have a good referral source, they left me an awesome online review, and I have the ability to create amazing cornbread.
